Smokey

Smökey is possibly the most unconventional brew of the year. Another doppelbock, smoked and aged in a spirit that almost no one has heard of. Haters are going to hate, and the uninitiated won’t understand, but secretly, this might be our favorite of the year. Slivovic is a plum brandy from Eastern Europe, and these particular barrels come from Ukraine. The plums are dried over a wood fire, giving them a smoky sweetness. It’s incredible, especially when paired with a smooth, easy-drinking doppelbock made with smoked malts. Double the smoke, double the bock, double the flavor. Pure magic!
