ABOUT KOMPAAN
Kompaan had humble beginnings, with just a few recipes and a whole lot of gusto. The brewery was founded by Jeroen and Jasper, two school friends that have known each other longer than not. They shared a zest for life and were ready to put The Hague on the craft beer map.
The brewery name is based on this friendship, two companions drinking together. As a modern, young brewery making contemporary, exciting beers, the name is spelt in modern Dutch, as “kompaan”, and not “compaen”.

Here we have 20 taps of our very own hyper locally produced craft-beer from our brewery in The Hague, multiple beers from our (inter)national friends and all accompanied by a high-end street-food from a real Kamado-style barbecue built into our kitchen.
Frequently asked questions
We brew more than 40 different beers a year, so standing still isn’t really our thing. From NEIPA, West Coast IPA and lager to witbier, saison, bock, tripel, sour, porter and Imperial Stout. On top of that, we experiment with fresh hops, unusual ingredients, collabs and barrel aging. Some beers stick around, others only show up once. There’s always something new to discover.
We have two of our own locations in The Hague. Thuishaven is in the Binckhorst, right next to our brewery and by the water. Binnenhaven is at Torenstraat 49, beside the Grote Kerk in the historic Hofkwartier. Both bars have 20 taps pouring Kompaan and carefully selected guest beers.
At both Thuishaven and Binnenhaven you can book a tasting of six 15 cl Kompaan beers. We take you through different styles and flavours and tell you what’s in the glass, how we brew it and why it tastes the way it does.
